Speechlessness

When my friend's dad passed away, there were no words that sounded right, and there was this realization that nothing I could say would ever make it better.

There was no sincerity in saying "I'm sorry" or "it's okay" because everyone says that, and the meaning sort of deadens in the end.

The only thing I could tell her was this.
